One day I'll get better at this.

Did a really fun interview today with Adam Roberts, The Amateur Gourmet, this afternoon, which you can listen to here.  I'm not the most expert of interviewees - I'm a little rusty - but I'm working on sexy bedroom voice.  Got any pointers?  Send 'em on over!

Hey there,

Congrats on a good interview! Send up a flare before you're on Oprah, will you, so those of us who don't watch TV can tune in.

Can't wait for August 7th!

I'm a huge cooking nut and just discovered your book and LOVED it.

Oddly enough, I own hundreds of cookbooks, but don't own a Julia Child one. Which now I'm wondering why not...

Definitely can't wait to read your next book.

Interview sounded good. As for the bedroom voice, hmm, perhaps take up a 2 packaday habit :)

Enjoyed the interview, almost as much as your comment at The Amateur Gourmet, which evoked an image of you alternately cooking vegetable curries and pasta carbonara. Looking forward to your new book and learning more about meat snobbery.

So Julie, want to do another interview?

I am old bleader who recently came back to New York to re-start MY old blog, Eating With Strangers, in which I invited strangers to lunch and wrote about it. This time, I'm hoping to stage the interviews in people's own kitchens while they cook me dinner. Check it out on www.eatingwithstrangers.com and let me know if you'd be up for it.

I'd hate to be critical of someone I've never met. All I'll say is that there were a lot of "uh", "uhms" and "you know". Typical of being nervous, that'll just sort itself out with a few more interviews.
Your voice is just fine. If you change it for a interview, you'll risk beating your head on a wall listening to it later on.

It was spontaneous and lively and didn't sound like you've given that interview 10,000 times before and are just repeating past interviews.

(I've been reading your blog for the past week after seeing the Julie & Julia trailer three months ago, great stuff, I'll be honest and admit that it makes me laugh when I read about someone else tearing up from cooking frustration -because it's much funnier when it's not happening to me- and the for some reason I love the lengthy description of each dish, anyway...)

Cheers

I have just found out about you, and I'm sorry that I one of the late arrivals who will be showing up because of the movie. I'm about to read all of your stuff that I can. Your story inspires me so much. I'm a writer who works at a lawn & garden center,I write a garden column, and I've recently started writing fiction. I keep playing "It's Amazing" by Jem from the trailer to inspire myself further. My best to you and congrats on your success!

I've read your book twice, recommended it to others, and keep a copy in my guest room for visitors to poke through.

I'm a fan, yes, but I'm also the managing editor of All Things Girl ezine (www.allthingsgirl.com).

Tried to go to your official site...can't. We're wondering if you'd like to be our July/August cover girl. Interviews are by phone or email, and really easy.

Contact: melissa AT allthingsgirl DOT net. Or have your publicist do so?

Julie,

A friend went to see Demons and Angels today, and saw the trailer for your movie. He commented about how good the trailer was. I immediately was reminded of how hard you worked on the recipes, the Blog, and the book. Few people realize the amount of work you have put into this endeavor!

I just wanted to say one more time; your perseverance is admirable, your writing is excellent, and your success well deserved. Enjoy it. We are all so proud of you down here in Austin Texas!

Dear Julie--I've loved reading your blog, and your book. You truly are an inspiration. I too live in New York, and I book a film series here (filled with a great audience of New York readers, film lovers, bloggers, etc) I wondered if you might consider joining us for a conversation sometime in July. I can only imagine how busy you must be now with the film and all. (And I apologize for reaching out to you in this way--but it seemed fitting somehow :).) If you would be interested, I would love to tell you more about it. The interview would be more a conversation, and I think you would find it truly worthwhile. I hope to hear from you. But either way, I wish you the best of luck. ~Michelle

The Motion Picture & Television Fund, located in Woodland Hills California, is thrilled to be hosting a private screening of Julie & Julia at the Sony Studios on August 7th . We expect 350 guests and nothing would make the evening more perfect than to have you attend. If you are going to be in Los Angeles, and are interested in being a part of the event, please have your publicist contact me at ehawkins@mptvfund.org. Regardless of whether you can make it, best of luck on the film and your new book.

Wow. I'm new to the whole Julie Powell underground society. Amazing. I'm just getting through the book now. It's fantastic. I bought it this morning after (I'm ashamed to say) I saw the movie trailer online. Sorry! I don't have tv and therefore live under a rock. I guess I'm in the wrong section to be posting this comment but surprise blogs are new to me too. When I did have tv the cooking network was my reality tv. It's all that I watched-religiously. I love the book and I'll tell you why. After watching the food network for years I was jaded into thinking I needed every kitchen gadget going to actual make food taste good. Visualizing you cooking in your little apartment kitchen and actually turning out gorgeous meals struck a cord in me. I'm in the last 50 pages and will now follow your blog. Oh and I'm cooking again! I think I'll buy a copy of Mastering the Art of French Cuisine...mind you it looks like prices have sky rocketed thanks to your project! Congrats!!
