... And On We Soldier....

I would love to give those of you who might be interested the rundown of my schedule for the next week - unfortunately I do not know what it is. However, I basically know the rate and direction at which I'm moving through space. So, this is what I know:

Tonight, I'm in Chicago, doing a Q&A at the Borders in Oak Brook, on 16th Street, from 7 to 8.

Tomorrow, I wind up in Seattle at some point. I'll be there through Sunday morning. No idea what I'm doing there, but you'll know as soon as I do.

Fly into LA Sunday for the LA special screening the next day. Again, no clue how that day will progress, but if public appearances are involved I will let you know.

Monday in San Francisco, where I'll be doing something.

I seem to have lost a day somewhere, but Wednesday I'm in Dallas, and there events will be happening, not sure how public.

Then back, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, on the morning of the 30th, just in time to slam my ass into a salon chair and get myself all prettied up for the premiere.

This dears, is all I know at present. More to come....

I picked up your book somewhere between home and an attraction 3 hours away, I needed a break from knitting and thought it looked like an interesting concept.

1) you don't swear enough, could you please swear more (j/k)

2) thank you... i made potato leek soup last night instead of mac and cheese, i think my boyfriend feel in love with me all over again

3) we read... a lot, he's a journalist, i'm a student and we're both parents, we read like it's going out of style... yours just made my 'top 10 to be lent out like crazy and read again' list... i loved it

I'm about half-way through your book and loving it.

In fact, I'm right around the part where a lobster is way too aware that his head has been sliced down the middle. Very cool...er...kind of. I'd feel more sorry for lobsters if they didn't taste so damn good.

Looking forward to watching the movie - I hope they do you justice!

I received your book as a birthday present. My friend sees irony in my name (Julia or Julie, never Jules), my job (cook) and your book. She apparently has missed the correlation of my dead-end-job depression but she's not that observant. The book was devoured in 2 days. Great read...funny...thoughtful...then damn funny again. Since I am approaching a rather scary rabbit hole up ahead...it has also been a challenging read. Thanks. Hope to read more from you in the future.

Congratulations on all the great things that have come your way from the Julie/Julia project. I have my mother's 1st edition Matering the Art of French Cooking. I have not had the courage to dive in. After beginning your book (must read before seeing movie) and finding the original blog, I have decided to develop a spine and dive into JC's recipes! wish me luck. when will you be in boston for an event?
Cheers, Beth

Hi Julie,

Your book was a book club assignment and I read it in just a few days, I just wasn't able to put it down. I am a foodie and a bibliophile and your book filled both those cravings. Your writing style has a simple, conversational feel to it that made me feel as if I just spent an afternoon with a girlfriend. The book also made me search within myself and decide to start my own project and blog about it. I just have to pick something, the list is long and some of it sounds impossible. But to tell you the truth I thought the Julie/Julia project sounded impossible...especially in a tiny NY apartment. Kudos to you for pulling it off while keeping your marriage in tact and creating a fulfilling career for yourself.

I loved the book, having read it and basically everything about Julia Child while the ink was still warm to the touch. Last night, as I was rambling on to my son about the plot, I am reminded that you are one clever girl, and slightly OCD, as it should be.

Your book was my inspiration to start cooking. I read it about 3 years ago, and I have been a foodie/home chef ever since.
I am so looking forward to the movie. Not since the first Harry Potter movie have I been so excited to see a movie!
I just want to say Thank You for doing what you did, and helping me find a new passion in my life.
Thank you.
